Alexandre Chevalier

Dr Alexandre Chevalier is a research fellow at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, Brussels. Trained in European prehistory at the University of Geneva, his research focuses since more than 10 years on the exploitation of vegetal resources and a wide range of socio-economical topics, including past foodways, territory exploitation and land management, economical relationships and exchanges, political power and social access to products, diet and health, and religious beliefs and rituals. Alexandre will carry out at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences the extractions and analyses of residues from grinding stones and human dental calculus from Mesolithic and Early Neolithic sites in Thrace, Šumadija and Alföld.
